The main home contains two bedrooms and a large office. All bedrooms, living room and dining area have energy efficient ceiling fans for those few warm days, as well as main doors to the home that can be opened for fresh air circulation. The Master and secondary bedrooms are located across the home from each other, so each party enjoys their privacy. The Master bedroom is oversized with a custom built-in cabinet to store linens, and much more. There are two separate additional built-in storage units with shelving on opposite sides of the room, as well as a large clothes closet. Lots of storage for all your needs. The Master bath has been modernized with custom tile-work and a walk-in shower, basin sink and ‘hydraulic’ toilet.

The office is adjacent to the Master bedroom and the living room, and is large enough for a craft/workroom as well. It contains custom built-in storage cabinets to tuck away your projects or for overflow items, with bookshelves above.

The secondary bedroom is large by ‘tico’ standards, and easily accommodates the king sized bed already in place, with room to spare. This room also has an abundance of storage and clothes closets, each with beautiful indigenous wood vented doors. Directly across from the secondary bedroom is a bath. Like the Master bath, you will find a custom walk-in shower, basin sink, toilet and lovely tile-work throughout.

The kitchen has also been updated to include cement countertops and center island as well as custom tile on both the walls and backsplash. The cement countertops added approximately 4″ to the counter height for comfort and the single sink was updated to a stainless double sink. All of the original gorgeous guanacaste wood cabinets remain and have been carefully maintained. There are ample cabinets throughout the kitchen and on one side of the island, which is ideal for large pots and pans. The other side of the island is shelved for your plates, etc. There is a separate spice cabinet and cookbook shelving next to and between the stainless gas stove and kitchen sink. From the kitchen you can also enjoy the magnificent views of Lake Arenal and beyond. The dining area is just opposite of the kitchen and is also flanked by walls of windows from which you can enjoy the views while dining.

There are two patios at the main home. Adjacent to the kitchen/dining areas is a smaller covered patio and at the home’s entry is a large covered patio ideal for outdoor entertaining. Both patios offer excellent views and protection from our periodic rains.

In the center of the home are the oversized laundry and utility rooms. There are lots of shelves for storing both your laundry items as well as gardening and ‘catch-all’ items. The design of this area allows you to close the door to the utility room and the laundry room so that they are not visible, and those coins going around in the dryer are not heard. There is a very large, deep hand-washing sink as well. You will find the “Insta-hot” heater in the utility room, which supplies very hot water throughout the home.

From the smaller of the two patios is a walkway and stairway leading to the detached casita. This casita also has a small covered patio and boasts phenomenal views. The casita has a small kitchen area, clothes closet, walk-in shower, sink and toilet. There is also an “Insta-hot” heater for the casita in place. There are banks of guanacaste wood cabinets at both the kitchen area and wall above the bed for storage. Views, as well as excellent fresh air circulation, are enjoyed via either the slider glass door or window over the sink. There is also a ceiling fan for those warmer days.

The property also has a newly constructed carport at the entry level, as well as a secondary parking area at the top of the drive, adjacent to the main entry, under the covered patio. In addition to the interior storage found in the home, there is a separate, newly renovated bodega on the grounds. Just beyond the bodega is an above-ground garden should you desire to grow some of your favorite veggies or herbs. The grounds are fully fenced and provide complete privacy courtesy of the numerous fruit trees and landscape. The main entry gate is electric and adds to the privacy and security of the property. At nightfall, driveway and bodega lights can be turned on for you or your guests’ comfort.

A few additional amenities of this property include easy access to Banco Nacional, numerous ‘sodas’ (cafes), the town’s two churches, huge open park, fresh organic fruit and vegetable markets and area bus depot all within a 5 minute walk.
